Reimagine What Recovery Can Be

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) is emerging as a powerful tool in helping clients reconnect with themselves and move through trauma.

But did you know that KAP is helping clients gain new traction on their paths of addiction recovery?

This 90-minute workshop offers mental health professionals a clinical introduction to KAP’s potential in treating addiction—not just through symptom reduction, but by supporting deeper healing and sustainable change.

You’ll learn about the science behind ketamine, ethical considerations, therapeutic frameworks, and how KAP fits into collaborative care. The session includes a short experiential practice and space for reflection and Q&A. Whether you work with people healing from addiction, or you want to expand your KAP knowledge-base, this workshop is for you.

What you’ll walk away with…

  • Understand the neurobiological and therapeutic mechanisms of ketamine.

  • Describe how KAP supports addiction recovery beyond abstinence.

  • Identify clinical indications, contraindications, and ethical considerations.

  • Gain clarity about how to refer or collaborate with KAP-trained providers.

  • Reflect on attitudes about altered states in recovery work.

  • Insights into addiction, altered states, and healing from a relational lens.

Healing from addiction is rooted in right relationship.

💡Can healing include altered states?

💡Is abstinence the same as recovery?

💡Rather than rejecting or glorifying substances, behaviors, or altered states, what can it look like to be in right relationship with them?

💡How can KAP support our clients in accessing greater healing and connection, breaking free from the patterns that have been holding them back and keeping them stuck?

In the upcoming workshop, we’ll dive into these questions and more. We’ll also explore a model of recovery that honors the complexity of our clients’ lived experience and feels sustainable, with particular focus on how Ketamine-Assisted Therapy can support those on the path of recovery from addiction.

  • We’ll dive into this in-depth in the live workshop. However, here’s some info about KAP!

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy combines the therapeutic effects of ketamine in a safe contained environment with a trained therapist. The psychedelic aspects induced by ketamine provide for more material to work with in therapy, especially in the context of a long-term therapeutic relationship. Ketamine has the potential to accelerate healing with the support of a therapist throughout the entire process. Prior to becoming a ketamine therapy client, individuals must be properly evaluated and screened by a medical professional.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a holistic modality in which ketamine is used as a complement to psychotherapy, to help eligible patients experience more frequent breakthroughs and sustained improvement in symptoms. As a licensed and trained therapist, Julio facilitates the psychotherapy portion of the experience, while Journey Clinical’s medical team supports you on all medical aspects. This includes determining eligibility, developing a custom treatment plan, prescribing the medicine and monitoring outcomes
